Garage Fire in Chamblee Causes Extensive Damage
The fire in this Chamblee garage was caused by a pressure washer that was still hot when stored by a gas container. The flames burnt the garage side exit door that we boarded up for security reasons. A wall and ceiling section suffered significant fire damage, so we demolished and discarded these elements as the initial step in the cleanup process. We set up hydroxyl generators to help clear the air as we worked. The attic trusses we not affected directly by the flames, so we sealed the crawl areas from the garage and adjacent bathroom. We dried out the remaining moisture from the fire extinguishing, wiped down the other walls and ceiling areas, and sprayed an antimicrobial product to complete our assignment. The owner was elated with our fast response to restore his fire-damaged property.
