Water Damage from a Broken Water Line in a Dunwoody Living Room
The aftermath of the leaking water from the supply line to the washing machine in the utility closet wetted this wall of the living room of this Dunwoody home. The fast removal of the water (not a large amount) was key in preventing secondary water damage to the baseboards, walls, wood furniture, and the carpet and padding. Our SERVPRO technician wisely floated the carpet and placed several air movers to quickly circulate the remaining moisture on the concrete pad and tack strip. These water molecules were captured by a not seen dehumidifier which also protected the furnishing and drapes by removing water vapor from the air. The following morning we returned, took out our equipment after checking for dryness to the affected area, and re-stretched the carpeting, "Like it never even happened."
